AfriForum Youth demands election results

AfriForum Youth has lodged an urgent appeal at UP to disclose the results of the elections, as stipulated in a media press release on 1 November. The appeal is based on the Access to Information Act (section 32 in the Bill of Rights) representing the election results as information within public interest.

Elections declared free, but not fair

The IEC announced today that a re-election is to be held early next year. This following recommendations made by the Independent Monitoring Body (IMB), who, after a meeting on 17 October, declared the 2011/2012 Student Parliamentary elections “free but not fair”.

The new home of Student Affairs

On Monday 17 October, the Department of Student Affairs held the opening ceremony for the newly-renovated Roosmaryn building on Hatfield campus. Roosmaryn is now the new headquarters of Student Affairs.
